Johanna Epps
Go Inside Yoga Studio Owner + Yoga Teacher
Conway, Arkansas
Johanna Epps is the owner of Go Inside Yoga in Conway, Arkansas. She has been teaching yoga for 20 years now. Her journey started in Phoenix, Arizona in 2001 when her boyfriend talked her into attending her first class. In that first class, during savasana, she experienced something she didn’t know was possible, a quiet mind. The relief was profound. She became a regular and soon enrolled in teacher training. The studio she attended and eventually taught for was the largest in the southwest, with 3 locations and about 50 teachers. This meant that she was surrounded by teachers who were older and more experienced than she. The studio also held workshops with nationally and internationally known teachers on a regular basis. She is eternally grateful for this rich environment to learn and grow in. Yoga became everything and she pursued as many opportunities and experiences as she could afford. Traveling to Kripalu to study with Ana Forrest, to Hawaii to study with Ram Dass and Sharon Salzberg, to California to study with Jill Miller, to India to complete a mediation training and to Costa Rica to work with plant medicine and breathwork. She has also completed a Vipassana silent 10-day retreat and most recently, received her 300-hour certification from Jason Crandell. Her relentless pursuit of wisdom and experience was driven by her own struggle with depression. Her passion is finding the tools that work best for her and sharing them with others. Johanna loves vinyasa yoga and gravitates to that style because the energy that is generated is what brings her joy and lifts her out of her stifling lows. The synchronization of breath and movement and the difficulty of a challenging class reminds her that she is alive, and that life can feel good! Johanna lives in Conway and shares her home with her 12 year old daughter, 2 cats and 2 leopard geckos.
